How often to re-read the same question

In short

The rule is simple: while nothing has changed — don’t re-lay. A repeat spread an hour later gives different cards, and that’s not a second opinion, it’s noise. Returning makes sense when circumstances have changed or enough time has passed — usually from two weeks.

Why re-laying hurts

No mysticism, just logic: if you disliked the answer and draw again, you’re hunting not for truth but for the wording you want. Sooner or later the cards «agree» — and that will be exactly the trap you set yourself.

When a repeat is fine

  • Circumstances changed: a new offer came, the person wrote, things moved.
  • Time passed — at least a couple of weeks.
  • You change the question in substance, not just rephrase the same one.
  • The first spread asked «what’s happening»; now you ask «what do I do».

What to do instead of repeating

Ask a follow-up on the same spread. «Unpack the advice position», «what does this card mean against my natal chart», «what’s stopping me from doing this». Viki remembers the spread and keeps working with it — that yields more than a fresh deal.

The card of the day is the exception

It’s deliberately deterministic: one per day, unchanged by re-asking. Precisely so there’s no temptation to draw until something pleasant shows up.

Can we do that spread again? Didn’t like it
I can, but honestly: it won’t be a second opinion, just different noise 🙂 Let’s finish this one instead. What didn’t sit right — the obstacle position or the outcome? I’ll go deeper.

A follow-up question beats a fresh deal.
