How to keep a practice journal with Viki

In short

A practice journal is the habit of noting what came up and how it ended. Viki keeps the reading log herself, and on the Pro subscription it’s searchable. From you, one thing: a couple of lines afterwards — «came true», «missed», «turned out to be about something else».

Why

Tarot and astrology are tested only by time. A spread reads entirely differently once you know how everything ended. Without notes there’s nothing to test against, and the practice turns into a pile of impressions.

The minimal format

  1. Did a spread — named the question in words.
  2. A week or a month later came back and wrote what happened.
  3. Marked what matched and what didn’t.

That’s all. Three lines. More isn’t needed; less is no longer a journal.

What it gives in half a year

  • You see which cards work reliably for you and which you reliably misread.
  • You see you’ve been asking about the same thing for the third month.
  • You see where you heard in a spread what you wanted to hear. Unpleasant and useful.

Feedback works double

Viki remembers your «resonated» and «missed» and factors them into the next readings. So the journal improves not only you but the quality of the answers.

Easier in Pro

There the log is freely searchable: «show my work readings from June», «where did the Tower come up». And the especially important goes onto the «shelf».

That interview spread — it all came true, I got the job
Excellent, noted 📌 Then a reminder: you didn’t believe the Six of Wands in the outcome, said «too good». Worth remembering this case — you seem inclined to discount positive outcomes. It’ll come in handy in future spreads.

A couple of lines afterwards is enough.
