How Viki behaves in the chat

In short

Viki behaves like a person: she marks your message as read and shows «typing…» while preparing the answer. It isn’t decoration — you can see you’ve been heard and that a reply is on its way rather than lost.

Why it matters more than it seems

Silence in a messenger breeds anxiety. You’ve sent a message and can’t tell: did it arrive? did something break? A read receipt answers that in a second, and «typing…» explains the pause before a long reply.

What you’ll see

  • Your message is marked read almost immediately.
  • While a calculation runs, the typing status is on.
  • Long readings arrive in parts, not as one wall of text — easier to read.

This is not pretending to be human

We don’t claim Viki is alive: the site and the bot itself say plainly that she’s a program. But a program can have manners. The difference between «the bot went silent for ten seconds» and «the bot shows it’s typing» is the difference between anxiety and calm.

What won’t happen

Viki doesn’t write first without a reason. The only messages she initiates are the ones you subscribed to: the card of the day at your hour, and transit alerts on Pro — never more than one a day.

How it looks in the chat
Do you really read instantly?
Really 🙂 The tick appears the moment your message reaches me. And «typing…» means the answer is being built — sometimes that’s a calculation, not just words.
