What transits are and how to know what’s happening now

In short

Transits are the planets’ positions right now relative to your natal chart. Ask «what’s happening in my transits» — Viki reads today’s sky against your chart and says what’s touched. On the free tier you ask; on Pro Viki writes to you herself on the day an important period begins.

How it works

The natal chart is a photograph of the sky at your birth; it never changes. The planets keep moving and now and then reach points of your chart at significant angles. That’s a transit.

Fast and slow

  • The Moon crosses the whole chart in a month — a mood-of-the-day matter, nothing more.
  • Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars — weeks and months; noticeable, not life-changing.
  • Jupiter and Saturn — weeks to months; these mark stages.
  • Uranus, Neptune, Pluto — years, in waves. These are the ones after which people say «I became someone else».

How to ask

  • «What’s happening in my transits right now?»
  • «What significant periods do I have in the coming months?»
  • «Why has it been so heavy lately — anything in the transits?»

How this differs from transit alerts

Asking about transits is free and available any time. Transit alerts are a subscription feature: Viki writes to you herself on the day Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto reaches an exact aspect to your Sun or Moon. The difference is who remembers — you or her.

The Moon is included in alerts only when your birth time is known.

How it looks in the chat
What’s going on in my chart right now?
Saturn is walking through your 10th house and turns exact to your natal Sun in February. It’s about profession — and about «the old way» no longer working: a demanding stretch, but it’s the kind that usually ends in a new status. Want to know what to do with it?
